The Glorious Mysteries
Praying the Rosary is a beautiful and powerful way to meditate on the life of Christ and His Blessed Mother, Mary. The Glorious Mysteries, traditionally prayed on Wednesdays and Sundays, focus on the Resurrection of Jesus and the triumphs of Our Lady. This guide will walk you through the steps of praying the Rosary, with each Glorious Mystery included in the sequence.
Pray the Rosary
1. Begin with the Sign of the Cross.
2. Holding the crucifix, pray the Apostles’ Creed.
3. On the first bead, pray the Our Father.
4. On the next three beads, pray three Hail Marys for an increase in faith, hope, and charity.
5. On the fifth bead, pray the Glory Be.
6. Announce the First Glorious Mystery: The Resurrection
Reflect on Jesus rising from the dead on the third day, victorious over sin and death. Through His Resurrection, we are given the promise of eternal life.
Scripture: “He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.” (Matthew 28:6)
Then pray the Our Father.
7. Pray ten Hail Marys while meditating on the First Glorious Mystery.
8. Pray the Glory Be, followed by the Fatima Prayer: “O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy.”
9. Announce the Second Glorious Mystery: The Ascension
Consider Jesus ascending into Heaven, where He sits at the right hand of the Father, preparing a place for us in His Heavenly Kingdom.
Scripture: “While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.” (Luke 24:51)
Then pray the Our Father.
10. Pray ten Hail Marys while meditating on the Second Glorious Mystery.
11. Pray the Glory Be, followed by the Fatima Prayer.
12. Announce the Third Glorious Mystery: The Descent of the Holy Spirit
Meditate on the Holy Spirit descending upon Mary and the Apostles, filling them with wisdom, courage, and the gifts needed to spread the Gospel.

13. Pray ten Hail Marys while meditating on the Third Glorious Mystery.

15. Announce the Fourth Glorious Mystery: The Assumption of Mary

18. Announce the Fifth Glorious Mystery: The Coronation of Mary as Queen of Heaven and Earth
Contemplate Mary being crowned as Queen of Heaven and Earth, where she intercedes for us as our loving mother.
Scripture: “A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.” (Revelation 12:1)
Then pray the Our Father.
19. Pray ten Hail Marys while meditating on the Fifth Glorious Mystery.
20. Pray the Glory Be, followed by the Fatima Prayer.
21. After completing all five mysteries, pray the Hail Holy Queen.
